We offer this service across all sectors, undertaking site visits to access parts or assemblies that need 3D scanning or bringing parts back to base for inspection in our facility using either scanning or CMM equipment.

Our integrated approach transforms scanned or measured data into high-value digital geometry, enabling the inspection of parts or assemblies to validate conformity or to support damage or deviation investigations.

Metrology expertise you can trust

Our metrology and 3D Scanning capability is delivered by our metrology team to enable in-house manufactured parts to be inspected for geometry conformity. Part or assembly inspections are carried out using either our hand-held laser scanner or Hexagon arm to deliver high-quality results.

Verisurf software is used to create inspection reports that make comparisons between manufactured geometry, captured by our measuring equipment, versus design 3D models.

As well as serving in-house needs, this technology is offered to customers for component, assembly or aircraft-level surveys and to assess damaged structures to enable the creation of digital geometry in support of future modification or repair.

Our metrology capabilities include:

  • 3D-Scanning: Using hand-held laser scanning technology, we accurately capture surface geometry for inspection. Our scanning capability allows us to record fine detail on small components or large assemblies with exceptional precision, ensuring complete digital traceability and dimensional accuracy.
  • CMM Inspection: Using Hexagon’s Absolute Arm, we are able to repeatedly inspect parts and assemblies at pace. The arm is an advanced portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for high-accuracy 3D measurement, inspection, and reverse engineering in industrial settings.
  • Inspection ReportsUsing Verisurf software, we produce inspection reports that compare manufactured surface geometry with design 3D models. We also use CAD tool-sets to establish geometry deviations caused by damage by comparing non-damaged regions or baselines with damaged regions.
