He holds a BEng (Hons) in Automotive Performance Engineering and is rooted in mechanical engineering with a focus on automotive systems. He began his career in injection moulding, developing strong capability in process control and lean manufacturing, before moving into senior manufacturing leadership roles across multiple sectors.

His expertise includes manufacturing operations leadership, process optimisation, capacity and resource planning, quality management, change management, R&D integration and team development.

At AFD Systems, Garry leads the polymer additive manufacturing facility supporting aerospace and defence. He manages production using FDM platforms such as the Markforged X7 and Stratasys Fortus 450MC, working with advanced materials including Onyx, carbon fibre composites and ULTEM™ 9085.

He has embedded AS9100D-compliant procedures, led audits and integrated additive manufacturing into the QMS and MRP systems to improve traceability, scheduling and assurance. Garry is also a member of IOM3 and Additive Manufacturing UK.
