Tom brings over a decade of mechanical engineering experience across automotive, transportation, defence and high-pressure gas systems. He joined AFD Systems in February 2025 as Deputy Design Manager and quickly progressed into his current role, combining hands-on technical depth with a collaborative, people-first leadership style.

Tom holds a BEng (Hons) in Autosport Engineering and Technologies, specialising in mechanical for motorsport industries. He began his career with the Renault/Samsung group, working with international teams to deliver complex engineering solutions. He contributed to global engine harness packages and supported manufacturing operations in France, Romania and South Korea.

His expertise spans CAD design, product development and leading engineering teams, with particular strength in high-pressure hydrogen systems. Tom has designed transportable hydrogen refuelling systems using novel technologies built into safe, reliable equipment, and received an Exceptional Contributions award for this work. He also has extensive experience in decompression and saturation technologies, and composite tooling for large-scale aerospace components.
